refreshing and energising smoothie for mamas
This smoothie is filled with lots of vitamins and minerals to keep up energy during pregnancy and postpartum. Vitamin C for immunity, fibre for digestion and folate for foetal health, this refreshing smoothie will be cooling treat on hot summer days. Enjoy! Nb xx
1 banana, cut into smaller pieces, frozen (or fresh)
1 cup fresh or frozen ripe pineapple pieces
1 cup fresh spinach, or kale leaves (kale stalks removed)
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tablespoons almond butter
1 teaspoon maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon finely grated peeled ginger
optional: 1 teaspoon matcha powder
Blend banana, pineapple, greens, almond milk, almond butter, maple syrup, ginger and matcha powder in a blender until smooth. If using fresh produce, not frozen, we recommend adding a few ice cubes to keep in thick and cool. Sweeten with more maple syrup, if you like.
Makes one large glass.
